MEET THE STAFF
Manager of Clinical Services
Carolyn is the Manager of ConnectGround and a gestalt psychotherapist, in private practice, who provides psychotherapy and supervision to individuals, and group supervision and consulting services to organisations. She is particularly interested in supporting practitioners in developing their capacity for reflective practice. Carolyn spent 8 years on the teaching faculty of Gestalt Therapy Australia and 5 years as part of the management team. As well as her work at GTA she spent many years in the community sector delivering a telephone counselling training program and providing women sensitive training and organisational consulting services to a range of community organisations. Carolyn has experience working with a wide range of issues such as trauma, sexual abuse, addiction, domestic violence, loss and grief and has taught in the psychiatric disability sector. She has completed Level 1 & 2 of the Somatic Experiencing Practitioner training, developed by Dr Peter Levine PhD, and has a special interest in how trauma is remembered and held in the body.
Cameron works a shift supervisor at the ConnectGround clinic, a counsellor/educator with survivors and perpetrators of sexual abuse in the church and more recently stepping into private practice as a Relational Gestalt Psychotherapist. Prior to this Cameron worked as a Social Worker since 2010 in a number of settings with a range of client groups including: young people, alcohol and other drugs, homelessness, adult offenders, mental health, indigenous populations and refugee/people seeking asylum backgrounds. From his field work Cameron is particularly interested in childhood attachment patterns, working with complex trauma and understanding how the past may show up in the present moment.
Nicole Van Os
Nicole works as the Senior Therapist at ConnectGround providing clinical supervision services to interns and graduates. She is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Psychotherapist who completed her Gestalt Therapy training in 2007 at Gestalt Therapy Australia and completed a Masters in Social Science (Couples Counselling) in 2018 at Swinburne. She worked in a range of mental health and community settings for 15 years prior to commencing private practice in 2014, where she provides individual and couples therapy as well as professional supervision. Nicole has provided supervision to social workers, psychologists, counsellors and Aboriginal support workers. Her style is friendly, relational and focused. Nicole has particular interests in trauma, attachment, personal development and cultivating relationships that genuinely support growth.
