TRAUMA SENSITIVE YOGA

What is TSY?
Trauma-Sensitive Yoga ideally is an adjunctive treatment to talk therapy. It has foundations in Trauma Theory, Attachment Theory, Neuroscience, and Hatha Yoga practice. There is an emphasis on mindful body-based yoga positions and breathing practices. Trauma survivors often feel disconnected from their bodies and guiding them through yoga positions can help them reconnect and notice what they feel in their body. This can help reduce the symptoms of stress, complex trauma, and PTSD.
Who it is for?
It’s suitable for people who are experiencing complex trauma or chronic, treatment-resistant PTSD as well as individuals suffering from symptoms of chronic stress.
